NCCN Updates Guidelines for Colorectal Cancer

"NCCN announces new updates to the NCCN Guidelines for Colon and Rectal Cancers. The updates include recommendations to the pre-treatment work-up and use of anti-cancer agents in patients with metastatic colorectal cancer depending on the status of the tumor’s KRAS gene. The changes are based on recent studies demonstrating that the tumor KRAS gene status is highly predictive of outcome with certain therapies."

Framework for Global Adaption of Practice Guidelines

The ADAPTE framework is a systematic tool to aid in the adaptation of clinical practice guidelines across organizations, cultures and even countries.

Since the development and updating of high-quality practice guidelines requires substantial resources, a streamlined adaptation framework can be useful for customizing to suit the local context and increase the quality and applicability of recommendations.The ADAPTE framework is supported by training resources [with registration] and is intended to be used by guideline developers, health care providers and policy makers alike; at local, national and international levels.
