EBSCO Discovery Search

The Anne Ross Library is pleased to announce a trial of the new discovery tool available from EBSCO Discovery Service™ (EDS).

Discovery Search provides fast, simple access to all of the library’s electronic resources through a single search. Simultaneously search across content in the subscription journal databases, ebook collections, DynaMed Plus clinical point-of-care database, as well as further links to AccessMedicine, YouTube content, etc.
In the UMHS LMS professors can embed an EDS search box on course pages simply by adding that activity, making it easier to assign readings and conduct research.

To access Discovery Search  just login from the Library Home page using the generic EBSCO login for UMHS OR your personal MyEBSCO login and select it from the list of options.

View of Discover Search interface results for keyword 'Dementia'

Please feel free to contact the library with any questions regarding the EBSCO Discovery Service™.

EBSCO Databases Now With Direct Access in UMHS LMS

Now UMHS Faculty and students can enjoy direct access to the EBSCO databases once they are authenticated to the UMHS LMS! For ease of access to these valuable databases, the credentials have been embedded into the LMS. Of course this seamless generic login doesn't allow individual students and faculty to do everything that using your personal login does, but its convenient for quick lookup!

Your personal MyEBSCO login is still required if you wish to:
  • save your search history and preferences
  • organize you reearch with folders
  • share your folders with others and view other's folders
  • download ebooks for offline reading
  • download the DynaMed Plus database to your mobile device for offline reference
  • create email alerts and/or RSS feeds
  • gain access to your saved research remotely
